We went to the studio and we used the gel in the lights to create the shadows, we had all colors and we were able to combine them, I also used Lightroom to edit the brightness. in the first one we only used one gel in one light that was reflecting to the background that way the person stands out from the colorful background and the other ones we used the gels in the lights and also in front of the camera.
We learned that dancers are very self conscious and they tend to criticize themselves a lot and they also like to put themselves to the limit. They are fun to work with and they like to move a lot. It's better to take the pictures kneel down so their legs can look longer .
fine-art photographyFine-art photography consists on bringing Ito life what's in the artists mind and its main goal it's to create and express an idea, emotion or image that comes form the artists mind and feelings. More that that the author's perspective can help to create awareness over an important issue because talking about it in a artistic way can bring more attention to it and people will be more conscious. It's not about capturing what the camera sees but what the artist sees and the camera is used to find a way to represent what's on the artist's mind.
I like this branch of photography because I'm the kind of person that does not talk that much but likes to express all the time and that it's kind of complicated when you don't talk and with fine-art photography you get to find a way to express everything that's on your mind. The subcategories can be portraits, fashion, landscape and journal photography I learned that there are two firefighters in each department and they are on call 48 hours and they can spend those 2 days without any sleep. We went to Balboa Park and we learned about Irving Penn. We learned that he likes to leave a "drop of poison" in most of the shots he takes; things like bugs or cigarettes.
At the workshop we tried to recreate his style with some tools we got at the museum MOPA |
